A nasty little beer. There is some yucky little sweet maltiness that leaves an impression: don’t come this way again.

Sample at Alan’s HSC initation, from Dogbrick: Pours a muddy brown, aroma is sweet toffee malts and not much else. Flavor is a bit thin, caramel malts, and a slight funky finish with minimal hop profile. Not memorable.

Sample at Alan’s HSC initation. Bottle from Park Lane Liquor in Lancaster, CA. This beer is a clear orange-amber color with a thin off-white head that diminishes quickly. Spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of malt and caramel. Light body with a sweet malt character and light caramel and hops flavor. The finish is sweet toasted malt with a hint of hops aftertaste. Pretty basic overall.

Bright reddish-brown. Rich caramel nose with light earthy hoppiness. Sweet, lots of earth and caramel. Well-made amber, a bit sweet but otherwise nicely done.

Bottle from beeronthewall. Pours deep brown with reddish edges. Nose is caramel malt, some vinous and spicy notes. Tastes caramel malty, a bit spicy and nutty, but a bit watery of palate. Not terribly complex.

12 oz bottle from Furnace Creek Ranch store in Death Valley. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. The aroma is strong with dark malt, caramel and spices. The flavor is a bit of a let-down compared to the aroma--there is sugar cane and a bit of roasted malts; and not much else. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery. The finish shows more watery sugar and some dates. Overall: too sweet for me. Not recommended.
