JohnC (2227), Mission Viejo, California, USA Nov 28, 2008 Thanks to my friend Ray for giving me a bottle.
Chocolatey aroma. The flavor is chocolate w/ some maltiness. It’s creamy on the palate. I enjoyed it. Dogbrick (2807), Columbus, Ohio, USA Mar 13, 2008 Bottle from Park Lane Liquor in Lancaster, CA. This brew pours dark brownish-black with a thin light brown head that dissipates to almost nothing rather quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of burnt malt, coffee and hops. Medium-bodied and moderately bitter with coffee and hops flavors, along with a touch of roasted malt. The finish is dry with bitter coffee aftertaste that lingers awhile. Just average overall. riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Sep 13, 2007 Dark brown, almost black. Aroma is sweet with a little chocolate, roast, and coffee. It also smells pasteurized, as all of the brews by Indian Wells are pasteurized. Flavor is nice. A smooth blend of chocolate and coffee with nice roasted, almost smokey undertones Dry and roasty, but super smooth. Of all the beers I have tried by Indian Wells, this is the best one so far. mrnutsnbolts (204), Berkeley, California, USA Nov 25, 2005 Bottle. Thin bodied, dark black pour with no head. Tastes like dark chocolate, roasty malts, and some coffee. Pretty light mouthfeel, could have been more substantial. Decent, but not noteworthy. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA Apr 18, 2005 Not a bad stout, if a bit thin. Pours a deep, almost opaque black with a minimal tan head. Aroma of bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt. Flavor is fairly rich: again chocolate and roasted malt with a touch of nuttiness. Thin on the palate ... I could’ve used a bit more body. Dry, nutty, pleasant aftertaste. A pretty tasty stout.
