Commercial Description:
Svane Hvede is refreshing, fruity, and full of inviting notes of citrus, banana, and cloves. Enjoy it as a thirst quencher for workdays and parties. Put it on the table when you want to make your lunch even better or serve it with light dishes from the Danish summer kitchen. The recipe is from Bayern, where our brewmaster Stefan Peter Stadler was educated as a brewer 30 years ago. Serve the beer directly from the refrigerator. Serve the beer in wheat beer glasses and take your time serving it. Shake the last of the beer before pouring.

50 cl bottle. Cloudy golden colour with a nice white head. Aroma of wheat, fruit and bread-like. Flavour of fruit, wheat and yeast. Very classic and nice. Maybe too much carbonation.

0.5 l bottle at SOPP 2008, Helsinki. Yellow color with vanishing head. Sweetish, wheaty, bready, clovey and mangoish aroma. Sweetish, bready, clovey and mangoish flavor with low bitterness. Clove and pepper in the finish. OK, a bit too sweet.

Bottled. Pours out in a cloudy dark yellow colour with a small white foam. Sweet aroma of apricots and mashed bananas. Medium to light-bodied with notes of cloves, banana and tangerine. Yeasty finish with notes of cloves, banana, lemon and oranges.

Draught at Kobehavnske Oldage, May 2006. Cloudy orange colour. Fairly dark for a hefeweizen. Light wheat and citrus aroma. The banana esters are there but in the background rather than up front - not necessarily a bad thing in my book. Clean, slightly spicy flavour with lemony citrus apparent. Not a big fruity hefeweizen but nicely refreshing.
