| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Oct 6, 2009 I adore Innis & Gunn, the aroma’s of whisky and toffee. I could sit with my nose in the glass all night! Aroma has the sweet taste of toffee and the slight twinge of whisky. I’m glad a bought a few of these. Slacks (486), Bolton, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 5, 2009 330ml Bottle: Comes packaged up nicely in a festive (if you’re Canadian) red box. Pours amber, almost no head. Aroma of sweet rye, oak wood, something fresh and citrusy reminiscent of lemons, likely in the hops, hint of that I&G skunk. Flavour is light, refreshing oak whiskey ale. Similar to their traditional but a bit crisper and brighter with the whiskey notes. Quite nice! blankboy (3214), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Bottle [330ml]. Pours a nice deep amber with an average size diminishing frothy off-white head. Aroma of oak and whisky first and foremost followed by caramel malt and light spices. Flavour’s basically that of an easy-drinking oak-aged beer. Average bodied. It’s fine and reasonably well done, it’s just that these oak-aged beers no longer excite me, I’m sick of them. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 19, 2009 Lots of useless packaging, as usual for this brewery. Pours a nice looking dark copper amber. Sweet rye whiskey and wood aromas, but not "in your face" like the IPA version (Parksy drank that while I drank this, so we compared). The palate is similar, with a better balance between the sweet caramel malts and the woody oak and rye character. Much more drinkable and enjoyable than the IPA version. I’ve had a few of these cask-aged I&G products now, and I think this is their best effort, irregardless of the patriotic marketing ploy.
