| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 19, 2009 330ml bottle. Toffee, some chocolate, some raisin, watery rum, vanilla aroma. I like this a little more than the regular Innis & Gun, but I don’t like it that much. There are flavours here - and in places it’s a bit like a watery version of Old Jamaica (one of my favourite indulgences - not that I think Old Jamaica is decent chocolate - it’s just something I enjoy) - but the flavours don’t amount to something i find particularly attractive or admirable. I’m not sure what the beer is intended to do - at 7.2% it’s a sipping beer rather than a refreshing beer, and I’m not that excited or challenged by the flavours I am picking up. I don’t think I am one for oak aged beers - and I’m certainly not one for the gimmicky paraphernalia that surrounds the marketing of this beer.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Bottle [330ml]. Pours a deep amber-brown with a small frothy/creamy off-white head. Mild aroma of dark fruit, caramel malt, light oak and a hint of vanilla. Flavour, also mild (and watery), of caramel malt, dark fruit, light oak and some vanilla and sugary sweetness -- it’s all very subtle and muted though. There’s practically no finish at all. Average bodied. It’s easy to drink but it’s disappointing (to me), it’s overly mild and almost boring. GRM (1257), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Bottled, pasteurised, 330 ml from Sainsburys, Banbury. Chestnut, brown with white head. Fruity malt beer with a woody note, some chocolate sweet notes, vanilla ice cream and a hint of alcohol. Full bodied and a comforting beer. Powertrip (193), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Very, very rich red colour. Extremely nice looking. Nose has cocao beans, asparagus, sprite. Delicate waves of chocolate pour out into the mouth. Fresh peruvian coffee beans and foothills honey ever so delicately hide in the waves. Some light salt and fresh earth settle in the mid-palate. The finish shows peanuts, rum and fading chocolate again. This is one complicated but terrificaly balanced beer. Well done! JRHBrew (218), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada
