tiggmtl (4181), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 18, 2006 Overly sweet and jammy raspberry aroma with some mustiness from the honey but no tartness from the fruit. Clear amber tinged blonde body with some short-lived legs on the glass. Musty honey and fruit are nicely balanced. Some tartness from the raspberries appears in the finish along with a hit of alcohol. Gently warming but somewhat syrupy in texture. Sampled at Mondial 2006. (Rating #649) beerbuzzmontreal (2701), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 21, 2006 Boring aroma and flavor of honey and raspberries. Fruit meads seem to be hit or miss for me, I liked the Vieux Moulin with raspberries but this one fails to captivate my interest. Rastacouere (5270), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 27, 2006 Still amber colour with moderate legs and an oily look. Thick, sweet baking raspberry pie nose shows little acidity to balance, which makes honey and raspberry the focus of the flavour balance, leading to a very sweet, desserty drink of low attenuation. Oily medium body, rather long finish, filmy. I fail to find a potential use with no acidity to back up. muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jun 10, 2006 Sample from the bottle (375 ml) at the Mondial de la Bière in Montreal, 2006. Lovely translucent whisky color with faint legs....raspberry-biscuity aroma, a bit of acidity to balance fresh clover honey....warm fruit compote flavors throughout, soft and voluptuous, floral honey is subdued....light to medium-bodied, fairly simple but fragrant, intense and pleasant.
