Half pint cask at Halfway House in Edinburgh. Creamy, ebony body. Some laceworks on the glass. Sweet malty smell. Caramel malts to the flavour with an aftertaste of cocoa bitterness. Smooth in the mouth [12.11.2008].

From cask at Cloisters. Pours clear and golden brown with an almost fully gone head. Mild butterish and roasted malty aroma. Flavour is bitter and slight fruity to the roasted malty backbone. Light fruityand bitter into the finish. Medium dry.

Aroma gives raw malt, biscuit at times toffee weak chocolate at times. Taste is similar though you can find the bittering hops and a bit floural also.

1. Cask Stillage at the Crown Hotel, Malton 11/12/2004 Golden amber coloured and slightly rich on the palate. Some dryness in a creamy malt finish. 2. Cask Handpump at the Blackfriars JDW, Glasgow 01/12/2007 Fruity hoppy and slightly sweet aroma. Mid brown amber coloured and malty with some dryness and bitterness in a crisp finish.

Cask handpull at Market Porter. Deep chestnut with thin white head. Toffee, ruity malty aroma. More toffee in mouth with earthy hop finish which is a bit muddy. Tingling hop finish on tongue. Aroma may have a touch of diacetyl
