500ml Bottle, has a medium red-ruby pour, the beer looks clear but there are a lot of particles floating around in the beer even though the bottle had no sediment, gave a good size off-white head that lowered to a ring and cover, this beer left decent lacing on the glass, aromas of toasted malt, a bread-malt sweetness, earthiness and caramel, flavors of toasted malt, caramel, earthy-woody flavor from hops (?), has a medium bitterness, this beer was ok but I get the feeling a newer bottle would be better, this bottle reads ‘Best by: July 2010’ on the rear label, so, this beer is not pass its date but the flavor came across as dated, anyway, I would have given this beer a better rating if there were not any particles in the pour and if the aroma and flavor were a little brighter.

(bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a beige mid-sized foamy head. Fruity and slightly woody hoppy aroma with a mildly sweet malty background and notes of liquorice and toffee. Slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Slightly toasty malty taste with spice notes of liquorice, a touch of toffee and subtle fruity and woody hops; dry and moderately bitter, slightly fruity and spicy hoppy finish. 22.XI.09

22nd June 2008. Brown clear beer. Starts with a pronounced maltiness but rapidly gives way to a citrussy hoppy bitter finish. A little too bitter.

500 ml bottle from EZ. Pours a muddy brown body with a good size foamy off white head. Aroma had lots of chcolate malts, grain, nuttiness, cracked wheat bread. The palate on this one is actually great, medium mouthfeel, lots of creaminess, average carbonation. The flavor had some nice chocolate notes dominating, slight orange, brown bread. This one was far better then I was expecting and is easily sesionable at 4.7%.

A reddish copper ale with a thick receeding milky moka head. A nice caramel malt aroma, with a bit of plums, light herbal hops. In mouth, a nice nutty malt, earthy and grainy, a bit of British hops, on the light side. BB April 2009. Bottle from Piscator, shared with probstk, Sept. 1 2009. Thanks Kris.

Pours a dirty red-brown with a nice off white head. Very strong chocolate and slight toffee notes on the nose. Beautiful, round mouth feel with strong toffee and nice grains. Finishes with just a slight bitterness. I like.

Caramel aroma, reddish brown body, burnt coffee beans flavor, thin off-white head, strong finish. Leaves slight alcoholic aroma on the palate. I loved it in general
