Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle the confused beer poured a caramel color with a small white head. The aroma was malty and sweet. The flavor had a sour malt and light nut flavor with a off flavored finish. A drinkable bitter but a beer with an identity problem. Angeloregon (2036), Portland, Oregon, USA

Lemony, crisp, biscuit nose. Rich, full mouthfeel with a creamy, caramel UK flavor. Citrus hops and bready malts. Session-worthy and very clean in the end. Very nice. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 28, 2003 Light copper color. Nose is bready and nutty. Flavor is biscuity, toasty, buttery, and nutty, but taste dies quickly, not much finish. A bit astringent, bottle may have been somewhat oxidized. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 11, 2004 Pours a almost orange out of the bottle with a small white head. Aroma is very musty with some hops in there. Flavor is very citrusy. I can get some orange and apple smokyness. Leaves a real bitterness on the tounge. Finish is thin and watery. berkshirejohn (1831), Bracknell, Berkshire, England

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 2, 2004 Amber with a white fleeting head. Straw/grass, herb, hop aroma. Watery texture and light bodied. Flavor was unremarkable. Some at the tasting were waxing poetically about his beer but I fail to see the attraction.
