[Sampled in 2003.] One of the first PA’s I had and it really hit something heartly. I thought it was an IPA with all those cascade hops, buts it’s just a bitter. Otherwise I still think it’s a nice brew with a good balance.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Pale golden colour, white head. The brew has some sweet malts and floral hops. Soft finish.

color is light to medium golden, head is thick and creamy. has some caramelly and heavy butter notes mixed with some really earthy hops. flavor is essentially the same...heavy on the butter.also some charred wood in the flavor notes. there might even be the slightest hint of some peaty notes in the nose.

Pours a clear weird golden orange color with a white head.nose is sweet in a syrupy way.Notes of Malt and astranhe combo of fruits kiwi or citrus plus melon??? Taste flat and a little sour with very little real flavor.

From the bottle.

Pours dark amber with a veritable jellyfish storm of floaty bits and a scant head. The aroma offers some cracker malts; the flavor is mild, with a bit of floral hops, hints of smoke and whiskey, an endearing cracker malt, and a gentle dry finish.

From a bottle this is neither a standout nor even worth repeating, though it might be good to try on cask if in the mood for a mild bitter.

pungent hoppy, herby aroma. lovely balance between fresh pale malt and herbal hops, then a really dry, salty, bitter, complex finish. this is excellent stuff - verging on orvalesque. 27/6 just banging this up a bit numberswise

Bottle. Dark golden with a pretty white head and lace. Hoppy! Flowers, fruit, grass, soap, dry, long finish. Nice.
