Bottle (Ossian Ale): Clear medium amber hue with lasting frothy white head and good lace. The aroma has notes of pine, apple, orange zest, pale malts, and earthy yeast esters. The taste has a surprisingly mild bitterness with a citric twang background. Some malt and flowery undertones. The finish has a sublime smoky nature and a hint of spice with the lungering smooth bitters. The feel is lively and crisp but much too thin. This beer is really a summer refresher with the lighter body and crisp piney nature. Sum is better than the parts.

Very nice beer. Very smooth and drinkable. No bitter presense at all. Would keep this one is stock if it were available.

Bottled sample. Gold in colour with fairly strong and spritzy carbonation. Aromas are of white grapefruit, black pepper, pale malts, and dry leaves. More of a grapefuit and orange combo in the mouth, along with more spice and caramel arriving mid-sip. Some floral and very mild fruity UK yeast notes on the back end. Mineral and leafy dry on the finish. Medium to light bodied. Very fresh tasting. Way closer to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale than you might expect from a 4.1 % abv beer from Scotland.

Bottled (thanks Viggo) Pour reveals a lightly hazed honey-gold ale with a smallish cap and light carbonation. The aroma of this ale is one of the best noses I’ve experienced in an ale: fruity, pears with musty citrus and a wisp of smoke. Medium body sweet malt and the teast-hop mix leave a lightly smoked pear cider taste...wet finish...mild and mellow but tastey...a very nice scottish ale.

Cant believe I havent rated this before, its one of my favourite bottled beers. Fairly widely available, this one came from Tesco Gala, good clean gold with a good thickish white head. Fresh fruity nose with malty notes in the background. Well balanced palate with a noticable citrus character. A cracking beer!

50 cl bottle, Winnipeg, MB, Canada. Clear golden colour, frothy and creamy uneven head. Predominant floral and resin aroma, smooth mild flavor with tight carbonation on the tongue. Sweetness fades to a very nice long bitter finish, some pine and earthiness.

Bottle purchased at Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon--Poured a bright golden-copper hue with a thick white head. Lemony, crisp, biscuit nose. Rich, full mouthfeel with a creamy, caramel UK flavor. Citrus hops and bready malts. Session-worthy and very clean in the end. Very nice.
