Commercial Description:
A smooth all malt golden lager with an enticing hop aroma of passionfruit and lime, styled to compliment hot spicy food. Another beer brewed with passion from New Zealand's southern most brewery.

Bottle, a fair bit of carbonation in the dark gold pour, with a bubbly head on top. The aroma is malty with some hints of toffee. A smooth malty palate at first, then hoppier and drier. Caramal and fruity flavours on the tongue. If only more lagers could have as much character as this!

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a pretty, deep golden with a small, white head. Malty aroma with a whiff of fruit. Medium body and quite a solid malt base - lightly sweet malts - and a touch of honey. The finish is dry and lightly bitter - no, it actually turns out to be VERY bitter! A clean and solid offering. 280108

I’ve had this one in New Zealand on my honeymoon. Visited the brewery too.
Nice brew. Hoppy.

What a great beer it’s reminiscent of Emerson’s pilsner but with more body and less spicy fruitiness which actually balances it out better. It’s got a firm bitterness to it that hits after the delicious creamy buttery maltiness has left the palate. Another great lager from the deep south of New Zealand, what is it about that area and good pilsner/lagers? Emerson’s, Wanaka and now Invercargill!

330 ml bottle. Nice golden, better head retention that the WASP. Decent aroma of passionfruits & citrus zest. Nice dry biting, peppery hop flavours. Shows a beer has some character when you burp and get a kick back from the hops. I like this beer.

Retasted 29/06/2005 at Cellar-Vate tasting. Gold with a thin white head. Big passionfruit aroma, nice malt sweetness and fruity, peppery hops. Med-light mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Dry finish. A lager with more of a pale ale style. Yum, a good, tasty, quaffer.

(21 May 04) Hoppy aroma of flower and pine, with a splash of lime. It pours a clear yellow with a fizzy white head. Body is sweet and lighty bitter with a lively and watery mouthfeel that’s a little alcoholic in the finish. Goes great with curry, but I still prefer Mango Lassi.

Pale golden colour with big creany head. mild grassy aroma but fruity citrus flavour. Probably one of the better brews to come from this brewery.
