Commercial Description:
A smooth all malt golden lager with an enticing hop aroma of passionfruit and lime, styled to compliment hot spicy food. Another beer brewed with passion from New Zealand's southern most brewery.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a pretty, deep golden with a small, white head. Malty aroma with a whiff of fruit. Medium body and quite a solid malt base - lightly sweet malts - and a touch of honey. The finish is dry and lightly bitter - no, it actually turns out to be VERY bitter! A clean and solid offering. 280108

this may have been sweet but at least it wasn't nutty. i guess it's an ipa, though it's not particularly hoppy by any standards other than new zealand's

Deep bronzy gold, thick white head. Very hoppy nose, lots of tropical fruit and citrus. The palate is fairly bursting with hops as well: passionfruit, guava, and lemon rind. Incredibly bitter finish. A delicious, flavourful, well-crafted lager.

Bottle, a fair bit of carbonation in the dark gold pour, with a bubbly head on top. The aroma is malty with some hints of toffee. A smooth malty palate at first, then hoppier and drier. Caramal and fruity flavours on the tongue. If only more lagers could have as much character as this!

Pours a sparkling golden with a small white head. Quite sweet and somewhat bitter. Strongish malt aromas of grains. Slightly fruity. Also a hint of dates. Light alcohol notes. Medium to full bodied. Creamy mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Long bitter finish. Nice full roundness.

I’ve had this one in New Zealand on my honeymoon. Visited the brewery too.
Nice brew. Hoppy.

i have no idea what style this is supposed to be so i just shoved it under "ale". they say it's designed to go with indian food but it doesnt taste like a cobra, more like an ESb or something. caramel and fruit aroma. was expecting nutty NZ malt but got mainly just caramel, with pepper and citrus from the hops, dry and spicy in the finish but not especially bitter. a bit of a mess but thankfully not infected like other beers we had from these guys.

Pale golden colour with big creany head. mild grassy aroma but fruity citrus flavour. Probably one of the better brews to come from this brewery.
