Silky smoothness, presumably from the oatmeal. Medium toasted malt and with a bitterish coffee finish. The silky palate keeps the score up on this one. Rutkiller (11), USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 24, 2009 Wow! I bought a six pack of this on a whim without reading any reviews. What an incredible beer! This pours pitch black into a pint glass with what is perhaps the darkest colored head I’ve experienced to date. The aroma is instant chocolate and coffe and some big hearty malt scents. Mmmmm. The flavor is much like the aroma with a chocolate flavour being the most dominant. This is a full, heavy stout that just feels good in the mouth. Very smooth and creamy. Overall, I was very, very impressed with this oatmeal stout. I wish it was easier to find. Highly recommended to anyone who likes stouts. Awesome! JaBier (1219), Capital City, Ohio, USA
