kmweaver (2396), Sebastopol, California, USA Jul 23, 2007 12oz can, labeled as Olde Frothingslosh, courtesy of hopscotch (via argo0). Thanks, guys! Pours a hazy, whitish-yellow color; white head with patchy lacing. Light citrus and sugar in the aroma; nothing offensive. Light-to-medium mouthfeel: grapey upfront, with some sugar and average carbonation. Quick, slightly grapey finish. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jul 19, 2007 bottle - A hard pour yielded a 2 finger, rapidly fading head on this clear yellow beer. It smells like mild malt and adjuncts. It tastes like sweet corn and other adjuncts. I’ve had worse and it’s not as watery as some. That’s as close to "good" as I can justifiably come with what’s apparently a favorite of many in Pittsburgh. It’s crap. mrmojo (37), Edmond, Oklahoma, USA Jul 15, 2007 Bottle...a regular American lager. A pale see-through yellow color, a little fiz. Really no nose, a hint of grain. No hop taste to speak of an easy drink but ni flavor a massed produced lager hiding under a craft flag obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Jul 14, 2007 Malt aroma, a little sweet, some apple and butter notes.Golden color, almost no head. Grainy flavor with metal on the edges, rather bland. Tinny finish. Suttree (2701), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 8, 2007 I bought this beer thinking that it probably was not very good. I was proven correct. BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA Jun 28, 2007 one of the finest true lagers brewed in the u.s huh? aaahhh what the heck lager is just for beginners! tyrok72 (2), USA does not count Jun 19, 2007 Iron city is a good, cheap lager. It certainly isn’t premium by any standard. I have had this beer from a tap, from an aluminum can, a glass bottle, a steel can, an aluminum/glass-lined bottle. The taste of the beer fluctuates considerably based on it’s container type and relative temperature. I have always found the canned beers to be excessively bitter. However from the tap this beer goes down smooth with no real surprises. It is basically a getting drunk watching the Steelers type beer. If you want to try a beer in Pittsburgh and only have one to choose, go for a Stoney’s for flavor, go for an IC for tradition and nostalgia. mkobes (2103), paramus, New Jersey, USA Jun 12, 2007 Chill and Swill at HDG every Sunday. Pale lager with a hoppy malty aroma. Corny notes. Malty and hoppy flavor. Thin bodied. Ok. Good lawnmower beer.
