RastaManDan (12), Hamstead, New Hampshire, USA Mar 2, 2007 You best be a STEELER FAN if you drink this beer. This beer has history but not a great a taste. guzzler67 (1272), Hanover, Maryland, USA Feb 28, 2007 Clear yellow appearance with a small white head. Grassy, mild malt aroma, light on the hops, slightly vegatal. Clean, crisp taste, fairly dry, with a short lived finish. Just don’t let it warm up. Preferrable to a BMC. Pearhead (21), Squirrel Hill, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 23, 2007 Clear the way, mr happy pants. Iron city is gonna be bop on down the old happy trail. In force to be sure SamuelJackson (2), USA does not count Feb 20, 2007 Everytime I pull one of these cold ones back, all I can think about is sitting at Moe’s, pulling up a stoll between Homer and Barney. It’s a blue collar beer, with a crisp, dry mouthfeel and slightly sweet palate. Pairs best with gravy fries and shots of cheap whiskey. pet3rman (206), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 6, 2007 Updated: Mar 18, 2007Well, you will probably notice my western PA. bias, but my friends and I just finished a quarter of Iron City and it did not dissapoint. Aroma is faint. Appearance is golden yellow with average white head. Taste is that of a decent lager..Straightfoward with a hint of sweetness. Finish is faintly bitter. Body is average.. carbonation is about right. Give Iron City a try. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Feb 3, 2007 12 oz. bottle via trade with Linus Stick - Pours a clear golden color with a half finger thick white head. Very light carbonation. Has a sweet bread, grain malt aroma. Has a slightly bitter sweet grain flavor. No unpleasant aftertaste. Light to medium body. Not bad for an American Pale Lager. Much better than any BMC. Thanks Alan. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Jan 4, 2007 12 oz bottle from Trooper11 - thanks, I think. Clear light gold with a thin white head. Light, sweet bread and grass nose. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet bread and grass. Grassy light bitter finish. Better than expected, but I didn’t expect much. Body is far too light, but the taste isn’t bad. Minor edge on BMC. Trooper11 (464), Suffolk, Virginia, USA Jan 3, 2007 The bottle says "Premium Lager", that with the 4% rating I am overcome with anticipation of what’s to come.....here goes. Small foamy white head leaves a bit of lacing atop this crystal clear yellow brew bubbling with goodness. Aroma is musky maltiness like ripe grapes. A bit peppery, kind of watery, medium bodied, not as malty as IC Light, but underlying malt is apparent. Notes of light fruit with peppery burn on the back of the throat. Good beer to serve to persuade an uninvited guess that he has overstayed his welcome.
