I was so psyched to score IC on my NC trip TC (This Christmas). I was first introduced to Iron City and its horror-child counterpart, IC Light, when I would roadtrip to Pittsburgh to watch my beloved Reds kick some Buc at Three Rivers. Sometimes you just have to wax nostalgic about an old friend. I was once so crunked on this stuff by the 9th Inning that I almost forgot to yell obsenities at Barry Bonds. Iron City is Pittsburgh. She ain’t too pretty, but she sure can count.
UPDATE: 1/25/6 Just had my first Iron City from the "Canottle." The packaging is now way better than the beer. No one at the table could dent this can it was so thick. Iron City is still pale yellow, still grainy and watery, still light, still benign. PLAY BALL! TheDean (785), MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Didn’t expect much from this beer, but was pleasantly surprised. One of the better lager’s I’ve had in a while. spkldhenlvr24 (453), Newburgh/Buffalo, New York, USA

But low and behold there I was splitting $3 pitchers of Iron City with old college friends watching the NFL. Average beer at best. shrubber85 (2878), Wallhalben, Germany

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 20, 2004 Aluminum bottle. Almost yellow, fizzy for sure. Standard lager that has a somewhat peppery hop bite at the finish. Only Steeler fans enjoy this stuff and that I am not. Cornfield (4925), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 0.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/20 | Dec 13, 2004 I’m glad that their new aluminum bottles gives them something to get excited about, because it’s gotta be real hard for a brewer to get worked up over this piss-water. Poured from the metal bottle, it’s a deep yellow color with a rapidly vanishing head. Coupled with the lack of carbonation, this stuff has the presentation of a 1st-class, 40-oz, brown bottled-malt liquor. It smells like rotting corn and rusted cans. Sadly, it tastes worse. And for those of you who enjoy such things, it has a metallic finish that leaves your tongue burning. Enjoy!
