Too bad that's not Pittsburgh anymore... edlek (4), USA does not count | 0.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Aug 17, 2003 Had this at a caving convention in West Virgina. My wife and her friend bought some for the menfolk. Worst beer I've ever had. After trying to drink it, we used it for mouthwash, washing dishes, etc.. Ernest (4483), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 12, 2003 Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium yellow. Aroma is moderately malty (bread, toasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), hint of DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Well kiss my grits...I do believe they actually put barley in this! Not fizzy, almost no DMS stench, decent malt base, reasonably clean, and enough bitterness to make it drinkable. I dare say this is underrated. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA

That's before I had any other beer. Now I know better. However, I do drink it when I return to the Burgh'. I want to do my part to help the local economy. A little more flavorful than the mass produced lagers. frogger (36), reston, Virginia, USA

Or you will be faced with the task of finding a place that sells beer to go and the only place in the city that sells beer to go is a pub. Your choices will be: Iron City, Iron City Ice, Iron City Light and Budweiser.
That was my introduction to Iron City, and I have to admit that I kind of like this beer. And I love the extra large cans it comes in, a real invitation to severly adjust your attitude. It works for me.
