This beer is light on aroma and head. The taste is also weak with a hint of sweetness brought on by the malt. You get what you think you are going to get on this one. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 3, 2005 Sparkling gold, thin fizzy white head. Leave in the bottle for best aroma. You don’t really want to smell this in a pint glass. Creamed corn, and butterscotch, with a light fruitiness. Tasted pretty much the same. Light bodied, light carbonation, malty, corny finish. I’m serious...drink it from the bottle... phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | May 12, 2008 Pours a semi-golden colour with a thick white malty top. Aroma is a little grainy with soft fruit like pears and hint of bananna. Taste is very dissapointing, metallicy, grain and finishes watery. BillKismet (1952), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 0.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Dec 30, 2001 Nothing special at all, in fact, pretty darn bad. Extremely surprised that it has such a high rating. The several perfect and near perfect ratings clustered around 6-17-01 seem highly suspicious (esp. as they were mostly entered by people who rated only 1 or 2 Pittsburgh beers in the database and put as their location only ’USA’) and may be the act of one lone soul trying to sustain Pittsburgh pride. Just trying to keep it fair. Well, at least they got the Steelers. This beer is pretty lousy overall--even for a macro. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Apr 30, 2004 I just sort of naturally assumed it would completely and utterly suck, but really isn’t all that bad. Clear gold. Nose a bit grassy, some doughy malts. Flavor is reasonably smooth, not skunked, and chock full of corn, but not unpleasant or harsh in any way. Granted, I was tired and hot after shoveling dirt into a garden box, but all-in-all I could actually drink this on a hot day without too much trouble. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 21, 2004 This was do-able for a mass produced lager. Nothing offensive in the taste. Pretty clean and straight foward just nothing in the taste dept. I could see this for a night of swilling, if thats the goal
