Nov 27, 2009 Bottle, pours a clear beer with pretty much no head. Aroma is grassy malt and no hops. Flavor is clean malty light grass taste. Light bitter finish, a great session beer!

Jun 9, 2009 Bottle. Poured a pale gold with a white head. Aroma is bland, some malts and hops. Flavor disappoints like the aroma, not much here.

Mar 23, 2004 Pittsburgh Brewing must be pushing west. I found this at the Pick-N-Save in Milwaukee. $10.99 for a 30 pack on 03/22/2004.
Nice color; deep yellow. Not dark or orange, but not watery yellow.
Fair aroma. Lots of flavor, bold, but not overall good. That is to say, it's not watered down, I'm just not overly found of the taste. Kind of a funny- malty/stale yeast taste.
I'm so used to American beer being watered down, then I find one that ain't and I don't really like it. But I don't exactly hate it either.

Sep 14, 2005 The ole hometown beer that is a lot better than Rolling "Skunk" Rock. But not as great a anything from Penn Brewery. This beer has a head and is what I grew up with as a "golden" lager. The taste is something you develop over time with this beer and it tends to grow on you, but I drink this from time to time with my dad. The cans used to have all the Steelers on the can. When you tailgate near Hienz Field this is what to bring. GO STEELERS!!!!!!!

May 7, 2007 An underrated and underappreciated historical Pittsburgh brew. The aroma is mostly hops, maybe some light malt, and a bit of adjuncts. The appearance is a dark yellow-gold color with a moderate, bubbly white head. Taste is bitter and somewhat sour, with a hearty iron effect. Thin, somewhat oily, and only light carbonation. A great cheap beer that continues to stand the test of time.

Sep 19, 2009 Bottle. Pours a sparkling gold, very fine white head, leaves some lacing. Grain, corn, grass and vague hops sum up the aroma. Flavor is mostly malt, some hops and a touch of corn. Finish is very crisp, has a touch of bitterness.

May 17, 2007 Metal Bottle: Had several of these on vacation in Pittsburgh a few years ago. It was recommended by the bartender. It goes down smooth, good bitter, easy palate. Would drink again, better than IC Light. Good cheap beer.
