This beer is light on aroma and head. The taste is also weak with a hint of sweetness brought on by the malt. You get what you think you are going to get on this one. TheOrange (405), Kent, Ohio, USA

I like my American Standards to be more crip then this was crisp. But my biggest knock on this beer is it's high carbonation. PorterPounder (3143), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Sad that this is what was dealt to the masses back in the day. Nothing to distinguish itself from Pabst, Schmidt, Hamms etc. Light golden appearance, tinny taste and aroma. No real malt or hop presence. Can imagine myself hoisting a few of these after shucking steeel though, would not want flavor to get in the way of quenching the thirst! Glad to see that the name was kept around. heemer77 (4309), Savannah, Missouri, USA

The the aroma is malty with grass and the sweetness of pears. The taste is light and inoffensive. It has some dirt and a little bit of bread. Not much else going on. Pretty clean and straight foward just nothing in the taste dept. I could see this for a night of swilling, if thats the goal thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Dec 30, 2003 This canned brew poured a small head of white colored finely sized bubbles that left behind a transparent softly carbonated light yellow colored body and a minimal lace. The aroma is very mild with malty and doughy notes while the mouthfeel is crisp clean and mildly tingly from start to a lingering tingle in the finish. The flavor is that of a mild malt hop with a bit more body that some American Standards. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Mild creamed corn aroma with some light floral (hallertau?) hops. Clear golden body with thin ring of white head that leaves some light lacing. Creamed corn and cabbage with some floral lavender hop flavours and very subdued bitterness. Light body with moderate carbonation. Aluminum bottle sampled with MartinT, Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere. brewshthereen (316), Oregon, USA
