Let’s get real here. Years ago this was what all tasteless, rotten, swill beer was compared to. Then all of a sudden it begins to somehow gain a favorable rep and a cult following. Although its been a few years since I’ve tried it, I don’t recall it being all that impressive. A run-of-the-mill American light lager similar to the rest of them. I doubt the Iron City brewers have upgraded the recipe all that much since. What therefore are the high ratings all about??

Aluminum bottle into a Snifter. Smells of barely nothing except for a light honey touch somewhere in there. The taste is very stale taste of the nose with corn, pale hops, and honey. Its just like every other horrible American lager, boring, not tasty, and bland! Thanks to Larry who brought it in for us though.

This beer is to be blunt not good. Not worth it if you are going to go this cheap on beer, I think PBR is better. No head, pale yellow, and tasted kinda metallic. I honestly just drank this with a girl I picked up because she was hot and I just ordered what she had.

Straight from the can. Gold pour with huge head. I smelled corn and malt. I actually tasted mild hops. Nothing really good about this.

This is rubbish. No aroma, no appearance, minimal flavor, skanky feel. It’s only where it is because I’m a P-burgh sympathizer.

Not the worst beer I’ve ever had, but very far from the best. Yellow, with a bit of head, some corn flavors.

Pours fizzy and yellow. The aroma is bland and lifeless. The watery taste is of very mild malt and a touch of hops. The finish is equally unimpressive.

Aluminum bottle shared with the guys at the Barrios’ 500th Swallow Tasting. Clear golden pour with no head. Weird Raspberry tart aroma note. Absurdly sweet fake corn flavor. Metallic penny. Very flat. Like a really bad euro strong lager, but without the alcohol, and goodness. I’d take a bud over this one any day.
