They all taste more or less the same. They taste like beer. No hints of coffee, no mild maltiness, no floral hop finish. It's all just personal prefrence and I prefer Iron City over almost every other beer of this style. Maybe it's because it's not as watery as other Americans maybe it's because my family is from Pittsburgh. I don't know but I like it. DerBiermeister (523), Birmingham, Alabama, USA

It’s of course not great, but it *is* underrated. From Pennsylvania! My dad’s friend brought it down. tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA

I have to admit, seeing a bottle made of metal was the main selling point. That and the fact that a single cost about a buck. Overall points for that originality. sdatgc (6), USA does not count | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 8, 2005 ok... now iron city isn’t the greatest beer on the market... but it’s iron city and u gotta luv that... it’s the beer of Pittsburgh and we support our beer... plus it goes down better than bud’s and miller’s.. jcwattsrugger (5573), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Ok, yes Iron City holds no great complexity nor does it leave much on the palate. But, this is the beer that I think of in its simplest terms as if were served in a white can with black font that just had "BEER" written on it. The taste of the beer is what I think Homer Simpson tastes when he puts backa Duff and the reason all those people are smiling in marco beer commercials. Sorry, that was a bit overly sentimental...but us yinzers have an extraordinary amount of pride for things from our city...even if that happens to be crap beer. tubbypgh (7), mckees rocks, Pennsylvania, USA does not count | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 6/20 | Feb 24, 2008 a pittsburgh origional, a must drink at a baseball game, i grew up drinking this stuff and really hope that the brewery can be saved PghBrewer (10), Denver, Colorado, USA

Being from Pittsburgh originally, I’d like to support Iron City, but it’s just not that good. It’s a liite over carbonated, a little light on flavor/complexitity, a little sweet, a bit astringent, and overall a bit dissapointing. Better then Bud/Coors/Miller light, but not as good as Yuengling or (I C Brewings’s own) Augistiner.
