CaptainCougar (4624), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jun 10, 2008 Growler shared by kp: Pours a transparent bright copper orange with a wispy-lacing white head. Nice aroma of fresh grapefruity resiny hops and some sweet toasty caramel malty balance. Body starts fairly full and toasty caramely malty sweet with great balance of fresh assertive resiny piny and grapefruity hops. Finishes crisp, smooth and bittersweet, hiding the alcohol quite well. A very nice double IPA. hopdog (4525), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 17, 2008 Tasted from Growler filled earlier in the day. Poured a medium and clear orange color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of light citrus, toasted caramel, floral hops, and earthy. Tastes of caramel, floral hops, pine, and had a nice grapefruit bitter finish. Some alcohol in the finish. goldtwins (3721), Nesconset, New York, USA May 22, 2008 Big thanks to Hopdog. Poured a clear bright deep orange with an off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, and toasted malt. Caramel malt flavor with a piny hop middle to finish. Dry and moderately bitter very long finish. Almost a medium body. A nice drinking IIPA with the alcohol very well hidden. beerguy101 (3468), Newark, California, USA Jun 12, 2008 This Imperial IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a growler. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel malts and floral hops. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The Malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are floral and citrusy grapefruit. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Bitter without being over the top. Touch of orange oil. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter with some orange.
