Ungstrup (11570), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 3, 2007 Bottled. An amber-red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of overripe fruits, berries, and alcohol - from the aroma my guess was that this beer was a Barley Wine (it was tasted blind). The flavor is sweet with notes of berreis, and over ripe fruit, and the alcohol leaves a slight burn on the tongue, but the body is thin. It is weird with the thin body and the pronounced alcohol presence. Thanks Papsř for sharing.
alobar (671), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 20, 2008 Deep mahogony color. Aroma of banana and spice. Taste is banana and spice. Seemed to lack authenticity. lebshiff21 (43), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 9, 2008 On tap @ Phoenixville. Seems a little too sweet. Overall pretty well balanced, lots of candy sugar, a little banana and spice. Finishes very well. CJfromPhilly (68), Aston, Pennsylvania, USA May 3, 2008 25.3 oz bottle from the Media, PA location. Pours a hazy coppery-reddish color with a one finger heas that settles into a thick collar & sticks to the glass. Aroma is of sweet fruity red wine. At first sip, the flavor matches the aroma exactly. There’s an initial sweetness followed by a dry tartness. If I didn’t know better, i’d swear this was a glass of red wine and not beer! As the beer warms, the sweetness seems to fade and a dry spicyness becomes apparent. Mouthfeel is medium fullness with some sparlke from the carbonation. Overall, this is one damned fine brew IMHO! MrBendo (1012), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Mar 26, 2008 Tap at Wilmington. Hazy orange color. Tastes of yeast, brown sugar and an array of fruit; candied oranges and cherries. Medium to heavy bodied. Tangy finish. A very good dubbel. sleepylopes (281), New York, USA Mar 10, 2008 smells medicinal and looks hazy but is a nice color. all aspects strongly influenced by coriander. its ok, i guess.
