Commercial Description:
This light styled wheat beer using 50% wheat to give it a slight fruity character. Brewed with an American ale yeast, giving it a clean palette and finish. Great Summer beer.

Tap at Media in July 2008 as Amarillo Wheat: Pours a transparent bright golden with well-lacing froth of white head. Aroma of mild pale toasty wheat and some fresh resiny hops. Body starts about average with a light effervescence and subtle sweetness with a decent balance of slightly grassy piny hops. Pretty smooth and drinkable, but could be a little more assertive.

Poured a lightly hazy, dark golden color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of wheat, toffee malts, grains, and a bit of citrus. Taste of more toffee, wheaty, husky grains, with some dough, and a light bitterness in the finish.

Draft. Pours hazy orangy coppery, with nose of wheaty malt, lemongrassy hops. Tastes malty, wheaty, with orange zest, hops, and some floral notes. Smooth on the palate.

Draft at Iron Hill Media June 2008, labeled "Amarillo Wheat". Pours golden with an orange tint, capped with a thick off-white head. Aroma of earthy hops, with some wheat in the background. Hops dominate the palate, but there is some citrus, wheat and yeast in the background to provide balance. The hops worked well with this beer.

Draft @ Media location, called "Amarillo Wheat." Pours a clear, pale golden-orange color; thin white head with patchy, fine-bubbled lacing. Husky, basic wheat and chewy orange-tinged Amarillo goodness; basic wheat core with orangey hops; simple, pleasant. Average carbonation. Medium mouthfeel: lots of husky, mildly astringent wheat and just a touch of chewy, orange hoppiness; very husky, with some light cereal. Medium finish: lots of husky wheat and light orange and mineral hop bitterness; very toasty.

On tap at the North Wales location. Poured a deeper and cloudy golden color with a small sized white head. Aromas of cereal, wheaties, and light citrus (or was that the lemon I had to take out). Tastes of cereal, wheaties, citrus, and grains.
