Commercial Description:
Brewed in the tradition of an English bitter, you're hit with a wonderful malt flavor and distinct hop character from a generous amount of Kent Goldings.

At the Newark, Delaware location: Dark copper ... musky hop nose. Superbly balanced with intense citrusy hopping. Also on cask ... with makes the head more sustained, much smooth, served warm and lessens the sharpness. Actually liked it better on draft.

A copper/amber color. Flavored like a stronger english bitter. I like this one. Not disappointing in one of my favorite styles.

Had on cask and regular draft at the westchester location. Very nice english style overall. Not enough good examples can be found here in this country. Pours a medium amber with a nice fluffy white head but fades. Aroma is a bit malty, with some hops but the main thing is the english yeasty fruitiness which is hard for some breweries to get right. Flavor is very rich in malt, lots of delicate fruitiness, and backed by a slightly floral and earthy hop bitterness. Very nice creamy mouthfeel for both pours and a smooth finish.

This was a pretty good ale. A little lacking in the head department, but was still a good looking beer. A really nice flowery, hoppy aroma, but not overdone in the hops department made this a nice, well-rounded beer. A solid offering. I could drink these one after another.

Mild, herbal, grassy, leafy, musty aroma. Hazy, tan-copper, generous, fine bubbled, off white head that lasts and laces. Herbal and grapefruit, citrus hops with grainy malts underneath. Medium light body with soft texture and assertive carbonation. Sampled at Kennett Square Brewfest 2005.

Drank this with a burger at Iron Hill and went along quite well with it. Small head but rather filling beer. Not too shabby.

Light copper color, very smooth, not as hoppy as I expected, a nice balance with a rich malt flavor & also a very obvious hop flavor as well, very good pale ale

’A British pub ale, copper colored, medium bodied, and hopped with classic English hops’ AC=4.3% Thoroughly enjoyable...this may be a different recipe than listed ’commercial discription’...malty smoothness but not hoppy; very little bitterness.
