750ml bottle-pours a light tan head and copper color. Aroma is very nice, medium malt-caramel, medium fruit, fragrant. Taste is medium malt-caramel, medium fruit, fragrant, finishes with earthy hops. Occasional. OK carbonation.

750 ml vintage bottle from Phoenixville. Pours ruddy, muddy caramelly ruby brownish in color, with almost no head. The aroma is big and complex, very fruity, with notes of caramel malt, black pepper, big figs, plums, tobacco, blackberry, slight white grapes, prune, Bartlett pear. The flavor is richly malty and the palate heft and complexity is apparent. I got flavor notes of fine tobacco, figs, berries, pear, apple, white grapes, and some earthy peaty finishing notes. Dense and complex palate, with well hidden alcohol, this oe is great.

750 ml bottle shared @ the Media location. I suppose this is the correct place to put this review since the ABV matches. Although the bar tender told me it was brewed and bottled at the Media location and the bottle simply just stated "Barleywine" Pours a cloudy brown amber with a smaller off white head. Aroma of dark fruits, some toastiness, biscuit and light alcohol as it warmed. Flavor was lots of up front dark fruits, toffee, hints of vanilla, light hop bitterness, biscuit, caramel, fruity esters and yeast.

Not a bad beer at all. Not aged. Poured a dark red-brown color with a noticeable but not overpowering head (more than I expected at 10% ABV). Aorma was sweet, alcohol, with a slight flowery hoppy touch. Hops were not prominent in the flavor, which was malty with a touch of alcohol. I enjoyed the malt balance more than SN’s Bigfoot.

This was a 3 year old batch unleashed at West Chester... Apepars a hazy reddish toned brown with a small white head that fades into a nice collar. Smell is of rich malted barley, cherry, vanilla, with a mild hint of oxidation that comes with an aged veteran like this. Taste is of a nice high gravity, sugary brew with lots of malted barley and vanilla swirling around with some vanilla and cherry. Mouthfeel is full bodied with the sugary vanilla grabbing at my tastebuds on the finish.

Pours a thick and syrupy brown color body with a small tan head. Sweet carmel aroma. Flavors are carmel, brown sugar, and some oranges in the finish. Alcohol definately present but mellows in a few minutes. Very good b/w.

Creamy off-white head mounts the dark amber hue to remain there. Potent caramel flavors come from the developped maltiness. Biscuity, toffeeish undertones accompany the orangey and floral hops on first level, but the 2nd level is the affair of the formidable peachy, banana and apricot fruits of the great english barleywines. Smokey in its finish, long, strong, heady and sweet. Medium to full bodied, slow carbonation. Its sheer complexity and fitting mouthfeel put it among the numerous good examples.

A nice brown color w/ a small tan head and some nice lacing. Rich syruppy carmel smell w/ some nice grass hop. Rich full creamy palate. Flavor is a sweet carmel and toffee front finished w/ a nice dry bitter. Good beer.
