Pours a hazy yellow. Nose is clean lactic acid, mild toasted grains. Flavor is very clean lactic tartness that almost seems chemically. Toasted grain, mild sweetness. Not a bad berliner.

GABF2009 - acidic, tart, a tad briny/salty, with a sour punch on the end - light malt character - refreshing, but lacking the complexities of the better examples of the style - the fact that they were offering it with syrup as well should have tipped me off - it’s refreshing, there’s just not much going on.

Draft @ Lancaster. Hazy yellow with very little head. Blandly malty smell with a touch of tartness. The flavor was more helles than Berliner Weisse. Very malty, lightly tart, and a medium-high amount of carbonation. Not really sour or refreshing at all. This one took me a long time to finish.

Draft at Lancaster brewpub, the beer poured a very light straw color, slightly hazy with no head. The aroma was as best as I can put it...beery...like that of a light american lager, no fruitiness or hoppiness or interesting character to the aroma. The flavor was strongly sour, with a very big lemony presence, there was a slight grainy aftertaste. After trying the beer straight up I added some raspberry syrup to balance out some of the sourness. The aroma and presentation weren’t much to speak of but the flavor was really nice, this was a very refreshing beer.

[2386-20090801] Sample. Not much aroma, maybe a little vegetal. Slightly hazy, pale yellow body with a medium-lasting bubbly white head. Nice clean yeast flavour has an odd tangy petrol finish. Medium body is a little sour. Very interesting, definitely an odd-ball in comparison to the others tried this weekend.

One of the many BW’s I had at BCTC. Very enjoyable. Nice level of sourness, a little lemony acidity and the right balance. Really good and so perfect at the time.

Draught at Phoenixville BrewPub: Aroma is lightly tart with notes of wheat, slight citrus, and general Berliner Weisse aroma. Poured pale yellow/pale gold in color with a small, dense, white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Sparkling. Very good lacing. Flavor is medium tart. Tastes of wheat, grass, grains, sour mix, and citric acid. Light to medium body. Tingly texture. Average to lively carbonation. Tart, wheat, finish is lightly dry. One of the best Berliners I have had.

(Growler) Pours a hazy pale yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, mustiness, lemon, coriander, grass, light soap, and toasted grain. Flavor of toasted grain, lemon, walnuts, and florals.
