Aroma is first of wild bretty yeast, elvolving in a really interesting way to bready, fruity malt. Strawberries and caramel. Extremely full flavor palate, with lots of red fruits and a really strong bready, cookie like quality. A touch funky for sure, but not particularly sour. Thanks bro for the bottle. A nice experiment, very hearty and a touch wild. TheCaptain (555), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA

Dark amber pour like a plum color with small off-white head. Some fruit aroma with a nice mellow malt character on the pallet. Like a dark plum beer with minimal hops and a smooth dominate bread malt flavor, I would take this farmhouse style over the Biere De Or. afireinside96 (835), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 3, 2008 Lancaster location. Amber to medium brown in color, on the darker side for Biere de Garde. A nice malty, caramely aroma, little to no hop aroma. The malt definately dominates the flavor, there is a nice sweetness to the beer with little to no hop presence. Just right on the alcohol, it is not hot or over the top. A very well brewed beer, it would definately benefit from the bottle conditioning. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 14, 2008 Tap at Lancaster location. Amber coloured beer. The aroma is quite fruity up front. Pear and apple along with a bit of green grape. Earthy/herbal yeast note behind a soft chewy caramel character. A bit too sweet for the style and more English pale than BdG, IMO. Light lingering spicey/herbal hop aroma towards the back. MullMan (1080), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 29, 2006 Thanks to Mark (the guy who sells stuff at Heavyweight) for sharing some of this from his growler (north wales). Pours a very clear light amber/ copper body with a thin lasting white head. Aroma was mostly sweet caramelized malts, with very light hop aroma and flavor all around. Flavor was very straightforward,, with slight fruit, moderate caramel, toffee, and light hoppiness in the end. Overall reminded me of an altbier rather than biere de garde- carbonation was a bit low, no spicy phenols and body was a bit fuller and sweeter than most biere de gardes I have had. SMooth and tasty though.
