Pig Iron vs. Bourbon, what a good idea! On tap at Newark location. Pours a black color with a small tan had. It took a minute for it to settle. Aroma was a bourbon, vanilla and malt. Taste was awesome. Just the right amount of bourbon, touch of vanilla and roasted malt just like the Pig Iron. Texture was thick, but not syrupy. Pretty easy to drink since it was smooth. Over all a awesome brew!

On tap at North Whales. Nice dark body with creamy head. Aroma is chocolate and vanilla milk shake. Flavor is chocolate, vanilla with light bourbon undertones working in there. So smooth with the alcohol creeping in later.

Nitro tap at Media location. Huge cascading head tapers off to a deep brown color with some ruby highlites. Taste was bourbon, toffee and chocolate. A bit of vanilla. Nitro-creamy. Medium-heavy body.

GABF 2007: Listed as Media, PA location. Poured a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma was decent with some barrel, vanilla and lightly sweet roasted malt. the bourbon in the flavor ran from front to back but didn’t overpower. Vanilla, sweet and malty.

foamy medium tan head, body is blackish chestnut and ruby scarlet at edges. after the nitrogen cascades, the head gets creamy and pocked with bubbles. first aroma is vanilla bean, chocolate malt like a black and white shake! some bourbon in the backgrund too. texture is very smooth and silky, roasted chocolate malt and mild/smooth bourbon. the nitrogen keeps it real mellow. vanilla is in there, and combined with the bourbon it plays up a coconut-like flavor. bourbon gets a bit tiresome after a while but there’s never any heat at abv of 4.8%. lacing is a thin film of tan cream all the way up the wall of the glass.
