A good mellow drinking experience. Very smooth, with a vanillla aroma and taste. The head is a beautiful creamy, rich tan colur, but did not interfear with the imbibement. The body is a dark amber brown with very slight viscosity. The smooth and robust sweetness is crafted well enough to be subtle and appears late on the palette without any major aftertaste. The light carbonation allowed the beer to dance briefly on the toungue as well as allow the alcohol to come forth slyly and compliment the refreshing presence of an appealing and mild bourbon.

Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, bourbon, coffee, and chocolate. Taste matches the aroma-bourbon (not too much of a bite), roasted malts, and vanilla. Creamy feel on the palate.

Nitro at IH Media. Dark brown, just clear at the edges, with a creamy beige head completely coating on the way down. Nose is dough and coffee with hints of chocolate. Silky mouthfeel as expected with a mild tingle. Taste is bourbon and cocoa with a dry coffee finish. Lingering grass and citrus peel. Retains the sweetness of the bourbon without the bite.

Nitro at IH Phoenixville: Aroma of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, and malts. Poured dark brown/deep deep amber in color with a medium-sized, dense, creamy, off-white/beige head that diminished but lasted throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, malts, light caramel, and light coffee. Medium body. Smooth, creamy texture. Nitro carbonation. Lightly sweet, creamy, chocolate finish is very smooth. Extremely drinkable.

On nitro tap @ Wilmington location. Poured a deep red almost black its so dark with not a lot of tan head. Aroma was not strong with some roasted malt, coffee, and bourbon. Taste was chocolate, coffee, caramel, vanilla, and wood, with a slight bourbon alcohol taste. This beer was very smooth and easy to drink. A nice brew.

On tap in Lancaster - Dark with a creamy, lasting white head. Aroma of roasty grains and chocolate with a hint of bourbon. Tastes much the same as aroma - a mild hop start and then a mix of coffee, chocolate, roasted grain and just enough bourbon to make it special. Served on Nitro so it was rich and creamy. On of my favorite All-time beers!

Appearance: Pours a clearish, dark brown body with a teeny, tiny ring of beige-colored bubbles. Smell: Sweet-smelling, chocolatey aroma full of dark maltiness and all the obligatory bourbon notes of wood, vanilla, brown sugar, and shaved coconut. Taste: Rich, dark malt taste with a medium sweetness. Milk chocolate malt balls - like a mouth full of Whoppers. Again, all of the expected bourbon aspects, all of them expertly blended; nothing overbearing or obnoxious. Sweetish finish with a fair amount of wood. Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Very mild carbonation. Drinkability: Iron Hill sure does get these bourbon beer
