From a 750mL Bottle. Courtesy of Dickinsonbeer. Pours a dark brown color with a slender finger of creamy tan head. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, and chocolate nougat. There’s a mild booziness from the bourbon, but it most of the character it contributes is a transformation of the roast characters into a more mellow, toffee and chocolate combo. Medium full bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel with a creamy texture. Flavors of chocolate and toffee malts up front on the palate, softened by vanilla. Mid-palate more of the roast flavors come out, along with some charred prune. The woody-oak spiciness helps to dry up the finish a tad, lingering in the finish with a pleasant roastiness. Thanks, Paul!

Nitro tap: Wlimington location, Dark in color with a small coffee colored head. Aroma was vanilla and bourbon. Taste was the same, bourbon, vanilla plus alcohol. It was pretty smooth but you could taste the alcohol. Good lacing, thick in texture overall a good beer but not as good as the regular IH RIS.

Aroma vanilla, oak, bourbon, milk chocolate, light alcohol, caramel, light roasted malt, toffee and some cherry. Flavor of vanilla, oak, caramel, coffee, toffee, molasses, alcohol well hidden, sweet maltiness and lightly roasted malt.
