Commercial Description:
Three months ago Doug spiked a pinot noir barrel from a winery in New Jersey, with fast fermenting Dubbel wort and FORTY POUNDS of dark sweet cherries. The beer fermented out nicely and has tons of wine like character including oak, esters, sweet fruity notes. Oh, and it’s very, very strong.

Poured a reddish brown color with a small tannish pink head, and left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, pinot noir, cherries, toffee, light nuts, and wood. Taste was winey, with some vanilla, grapes, some citrus, nuts, toffee, and tart cherry with more wood in the finish.

On tap at IH North Wales. Pours a hazy deep ruby with a smaller bubbly almost pink head. Aroma of sour cherries, woody notes, brett, dark fruits, vanilla, red wine, grape skins, vinous and cherry pits. Flavor of tart cherry skins, brett, horse blanket, cereal graininess that lingers in after taste, red wine, woody, vanilla, honey, dry finish, cheerios. Really nice...lots if cherry goodness. Abv well hidden, dubbel qualities hidden as well. But really solid.

On tap at Iron Hill North Wales. 5-gallon keg (same beer that will be entered at GABF). Poured a deeper reddish brown color with a very small, pinkish tinged, off white head. Aromas of cherries, vaniila, grapes, wood, and lightly vinous. Tart smelling too. Tastes were vinous (more than the aroma), cherries, wood, vanilla and grapes. Nice tart finish that wasn’t overpowering. Very easy to drink with the alcohol well hidden.
