Unlike eaglefan538 I didn’t feel this was true to style at all but I can agree that it was very good. A bit darker and much, much hoppier than every other Dortmunder I have ever had. Almost like a pils with a helles body. Flavor is very floral with a bit of hop spiciness as well. Fairly bitter, probably around 30-35 IBUs. The best beer I had at Iron Hill that day after several letdowns. eaglefan538 (2363), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Pour was dead on for the style, nice golden color, decent carbonation on display, good white head retention. The aroma was doughy and grainy with some grassy hops. The flavor was outstanding within the style, all the aroma, crisp and clean grains, clean dry hops with some grass. Malts finish sweet but blanced by the dry hoppiness. One of the best shots at he style, although I haven’t done this style in the homeland. Perfect light and refreshing, but flavorful lager. guzzler67 (1278), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 16, 2004 Amber appearance with a small head. Fruity, malty aroma with notes of toasted bread and apples. Lacked balance with little noticable hoppiness. Mild carbonation, with a light bodied, non-descript flavor. Finish didn’t linger. Taste caramel and biscuits tending towards malt overbalance, some flat sweetness, little hops. Tad bland but quaffable. egajdzis (3625), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
