Commercial Description:
This traditional German wheat beer has a huge fruity nose of banana and cloves from the Bavarian ale yeast that marries with the notes of unsweetened chocolate and caramel from the German specialty malts.

Pours a deep, dark chocolate brown color that is completely opaque except for the slightest lighter colored edges and a one finger frothy white head that quickly dissipates into a lasting ring. Very sporadic streaks of lace are left behind. Breday yeast aroma with hints of ripe banana and a slight chocolate presence. Very subtle clove spiciness that is almost hard to detect beneath the roasted malt. Medium bodied with a huge spice clove presence which is surprising considering it wasn’t very prominent in the aroma. Mellow chocolate flavor with bready yeast, and a lot of citrus flavor. The chocolate malt presence isn’t as prominent as I prefer in this style and the beer is very spicy, almost too heavy on the cloves. Lots of citrus lemon and orange peel with some caramel malt and a very dry finish.

Draft at Maple Shade. Poured a rather ugly muddy light brown with a quickly and totally fading of white head. Aroma was a marriage of chocolate and wheat that has been muddled with a light touch of green banana. Body was a little to lively for my taste with lots of bubbly carbonation and a medium body. Flavor was wheat, chocolate, slight earth mixed in and a hint of clove. Solid beer that was refreshing despite it’s ugly appearance.

Pours a hazy amber with a creamy head. The nose is very big on the banana clove combo, yeasty, wheaty, all of the typical weisse aromas concentrated. Flavor also shows lots of banana, estery, yeasty, clove, wheaty. Soft smooth mouthfeel.

Almost no head but still has great carbonation. 20 min later, still percolating nicely. Strange aroma that has bananas and pickles. Who knows. Soft, sweet and malty with soem vegetal flavors. A bit sickly sweet. Some wheat presence in the body and flavor. Finishes thick and a bit oily. A strange and interesting brew.

Heavy banana flavor, but still a good dark and malty beer. Left great lacing. A good choice for a wheat beer.

Draft: Poured a cloudy brown, almost dirty water color with not much head. The aroma was that of a Hefe, bananas and cloves. The flavor was great, some fruit, some malts, some nuts and more malts. Overall, dark yet refreshing, a great spring/summer beer.

On tap at the North Wales location. Poured a medium and cloudy brownish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of wheat, some cloves, and lightly fruity. Tastes of wheat, spices, bananas, and some chocolate.
