Commercial Description:
A truly full-bodied beer. Fe-10 is rich, malty and very complex. Dark in color, this beer uses Belgian Abbey yeast, dark candi sugar and a huge assortment of specialty malts, providing layers of complex fruity aromas and flavors, with a warming alcohol finish.

Bottle: The aroma consists of grape, yeast, raisin, faint chocolate, and moderate alcohol that increases as it warms. It pours a hazy reddish-brown with minimal transparency and a moderate tan head that lasts a minute or so. The flavor starts with grape and yeast with some faint chocolate. There is strong candi sugar presence in the middle. There is some faint caramel in the background. It finishes with noticeable alcohol, light spice, and faint floral bitterness. The mouthfeel is full with some lively prickly carbonation that takes some time and swirling to mellow out.

Bottle: Pours a deep mahogany with a fizzy light tan head. Aroma, bready malts, caramel, dried fruits, some yeast, and some spice. Flavor, caramel, bready, dried dark fruits, yeasty. Pretty good.

Sampled at the RBSG ’07 Grand Tasting room. Pours a hazy orange-ish brown brew with a fizzy light tan head that quickly disappears. Aroma is funky with green vegetable scents, some black pepper, soy sauce and a touch of dried, dark pitted fruit. Taste is a little off, very sweet, medium bodied with a metalic aftertaste. Finish is sweet with some high alcohol warmth in the aftertaste. More of an experimental brew than a Begian Quadrupel. Hoping this may have been in an infected packaging, try again?

At the 07 RBSG grand tasting. Fizzy brown head over a brown beer. Nose of corriader and cat box. Sweet grains, ripe plum, raisen toast and juicey friut sweetness. It bloomed as it warmed. Interesting beer, but I wouldn’t call it a quad.

Wow, this didn’t seem anything like a quad to me. There are some notes of fruit in the aroma, some in the flavor but a bit more sugary sweet malts come through. Strange and strong.

Not so good. This beer has an aroma of Chinese takeout. It is brown in color, lots of malt in the flavor, but an off flavor of vegetables.

RBSG07. From 22 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a brown head, quickly disappearing. Aroma is dried fruit, not really sweet nor dry. Flavour is dried sweet fruit with a clear metallic note. The metallic note makes out the finish together with notes of roasted malt.6-4-7-4-14=3.5

From bottle, blind tasting at Papsoes - beer no 24. Pours slight hazy deep brown to amber with a diminished off-white head. Aroma is soft chocolate malty. Sweet flavoured with a mild chocolate malt a bit of liqourice. Mild. Sweet finish.6-3-6-4-13=3.2
