From bottle, Papsoes blindtasting #17. Pours murky redish with a small white head. Distinct citric and berry fruity aroma. Extreme citric and very fresh fruity and citric to acidic. Light throat burn. Vague acetone and juicy flavoured into a dry and citric finish.

750ml bottle. Loads of tart and slightly sweet raspberries on the nose. Some mustiness. A bit of foot and sock. Mild wet wood notes... but really heavy on the raspberries. I do think my initial pour was a tad on the cold side, because as the beer warmed, more funk and acidity replaced the jammy characteristics of the fruit. After a while, it smells rather funky and acidic. Pours a still, deep ruby red with a few quickly fading bubbles... Flavor starts out rather bland but by the time the beer hits the back of my tongue and throat... holy hell! Boatloads of acetic acid. Wow. Some lactic creaminess up front. A bit of raspberry yogurt... not much in the way of malt. Some sweet-tartiness... Rich and creamy on the tongue. Medium bodied. Not sure that I’d really call this a Fruit-Lambic... more along the lines of a fruited sour... Still tasty but needs more body, a bit more malt, a bit more wood on the tongue... But that finish! Where’s my Prilosec?

Bottle courtesy of my secret santa. Pours a clear deep red with a small pink head. Aroma of raspberries, tartness, and oak/wood barrel. Flavor is quite tart with lots of sweettart candy notes and a sweet finish. Some lacto and yogurt-y notes too. Quite nice, a touch on the too sour/acidic side, but certainly enjoyable. 8/4/8/4/15 (3.9/5)

Bottle. Aroma of fresh raspberries, yogurt and pineapple funk, very yeasty including the brett. Flavor continues with the raspberry and yogurt along with some lemon, apricot, and cherry notes, particularly at the finish. A subtle but intense tart note (if that makes sense) pops up from time to time. Just the right amount of acidity (to me at least) to make this superbly drinkable and not overly puckering. I had problems with the cassis as I tasted nothing but borscht. This one had some of that weird (funky?) flavor as well, but had plenty of other stuff to take care of that. Definitely a fan.

Bottle, sampled at Woodshop Quad. Pours a cloudy amber-red with a white ring. Tart aroma, of raspberry, sugar, yeast, malt. Intense sour taste, of raspberry, sugar, yeasty vinegar, and a hint of citrus. Lingering tartness. Really nice.

Bottle shared by oldstylecubsfan. Thanks Todd. Like the kriek, this one is out of balance and the flavors clash more than meld. Over the top vinegarish finish that makes it difficult to consume and I usually enjoy this characteristic in beers. But this stuff is over the top. Maybe more time to mellow with mellow it out?
