Flavor has a classic W-Bock/Hefe sweetness with all of the standard fruits plus a nice dose of earthy hops and spice. Really nice. 4.2%?!?! My ass.

Pours a nice orange with a big thick bone white head. Aroma is great, bananna, clove, a touch of smoke, and a a bit of biscuit. Flavor is even better, lot of hops, meat, clove. A touch of yeast and bitterness as well. Creamy mouthfeel. I liked this one a lot. Thanks Gabe! GMCC2181 (882), Bear/Elkton, Delaware, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2009 Draft at IH Newark... Poured into a weizen glass. Glowing orange color good head... Great aroma of hops and banana... Taste is lots IPA characteristics vs Hefeweizen characteristics... Best of both worlds?? Not an overdone bitterness or banana taste. Light spices... Very enjoyable and unique... I dont know why... I just think these two styles should never meet even though I enjoyed it.... Texture was heavier then most hefe. Overall a unique beer that I enjoyed. Thanks to eaglesfan for letting me know this was on tap! eaglefan538 (2403), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 29, 2009 On draft at the Newark location. This one impressed and should make the style proud. I go back and forth on these neuvo styles that seem so trendy, but this was a great combination of seemingly PacNW-hops and the standard hefe-base, a paring that I wouldn’t expect to work great together? Justin at IH may have outdone Brooklyn/Schneider here, imho. Pour was as expected, looked just like a hefe. The aroma was dead on with the hefe ester and yeast base with citrus and pine hops complementing. The flavor followed, a well done hopping that didn’t overwhelm everything else about the wheat base. Really quite nice. I hope it comes back every so oftne.
