CaptainCougar (5234), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jun 14, 2009 Growler sampled on 10/25/08 thanks to MrBendo: Pours a hazy copper bronze with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet toasty caramel toffee and pumpkin spice. Body starts with good fullness and light pumpkin flavor with lots of sweet caramel malt. Well balanced with good complexity. A nice pumpkin beer. Dickinsonbeer (3280), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Feb 10, 2009 Thanks to MrBendo for the growler share at Kramer tasting. Pours a hazy deep amber with a thinning head. Aroma is instantly ginger snap cookies, with lots of cinnamon spices, clove and nutmeg seems on the low side for a pumpkin ale- ok sweet caramel as well. Toasted malts, caramel sharp crystal spice becomes well rounded in the flavor with more cinnamon and a less pronounced ginger character- all spice and clove in the end and an ok earthy piny bitterness. DSG (1330), Tel Aviv, Israel Jan 25, 2009 (11/8/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in North Wales. Muddy dark brown color. Aroma of pumpkin, malt, spices (cinnamon, nutmeg) and some fruity esters notes. Very sweet flavor with some pumpkin, spices, sugar and alcohol. Medium-bodied. riversideAK (2364), Shoreline, Washington, USA Dec 17, 2008 This stuff was great. Lots of spicy yeast, fruity esters, spice, sweet malts, orange, pepper, some toasted nuts, and maybe banana. A ton going on in this one. Orange brown pour, hazy with a thin sticky head. The flavors are sweet and spicy. Lots of yeast and fruit. Really a standout to me at Pumpkin Fest. GeneralGao (2948), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Nov 21, 2008 Growler from pepsican. Thanks. Poured a hazy brown-orange color. the head was off white. Smelled of corn sweetner, wet dog, cereal grain, and a bit of spice. Medium bodied with alcohol warmth. I tasted clove, banana, cinnamon, and raw alcohol. Imagine a pumpkin infused vodka with too much added spice. alobar (857), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 20, 2008 Big beer! Lots of spice. Pours a cloudy brown color with a minimal head. Strong aroms of spice, fruit, and malt. Some pumpkin up front, and a lot of spice on th eback end. A sipping beer. kkearn (906), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 1, 2008 Draft, at IH North Wales 10/26/08. Poured a murky copper color, capped with a small off-white head. Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumpkin. Flavor is reminiscent of pumpkin pie filling, with nutmeg, cinnamon, other spices, brown sugar and alcohol. Full bodied and hearty. Spices hang out for a long finish. This was much more impressive than the non-imperial pumpkin beer which was also on tap. JB175 (1642), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 1, 2008 Golden color with a nice and strong aroma of big pumpkin, spices, cream and sugar. Flavor is heavy on the pumpkin with some nice cinnamon and spice, loads of sugar, and a creamy booziness that was pretty good. One of the better pumpkin brews I’ve had.
