Lots of spicy yeast, fruity esters, spice, sweet malts, orange, pepper, some toasted nuts, and maybe banana. A ton going on in this one. Orange brown pour, hazy with a thin sticky head. Pours a cloudy caramel amber with a medium sized light beige head. Aroma of pumpkin filling, banana bread and nutmeg. Taste of rich pumpkin filling, nutmeg and banana bread. Very good. Aroma of pie spices, yeasty cloves and a bit of alcohol. The initial spicy yeast taste gives way to the pumpkin pie spices in a very enjoyable way. Spicy-sweet finish. Pretty substantial bodied. Poured a murky copper color, capped with a small off-white head. Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumpkin. Flavor is reminiscent of pumpkin pie filling, with nutmeg, cinnamon, other spices, brown sugar and alcohol. Full bodied and hearty. Spices hang out for a long finish. This was much more impressive than the non-imperial pumpkin beer which was also on tap.
