On tap in Maple Shade. Very nice aroma of hops and citrus. Pretty black with a small off white head. Flavor wae nicely balanced with a malt sweetness and just the right amount of hop bitterness. Very dry and refreshing finish.

Draft, at Iron Hill Maple Shade preview. Pours very deep brown, capped with a medium sized tan head. Aroma of citric hops, earth, and come chocolate. Flavor follows suit with cocoa, citric hops, earth, and perhaps even a little wood. Orange and grapefruit linger on the palate. This stuff was tasty; I hope to see it more often at Iron Hill.

On cask at IH West Chester. Pour was dark brown, decent tan-ish colored head, sound lacing. The aroma was dry citrus and pine hops, faint roast. The flavor followed with pine and citrus hops, some citrus juiciness, light roast, probably even a touch of chocolate. The mouthfeel was thin, the flavor could have been a tad fuller, but man, this thing was pretty s-a-weet on cask amidst a 35mi bike ride. First Stoner, now this one, I’m down with a few more black IPA’s, they’re more exciting than the American-hopped Belgian Strongs anyway.... (for now).

Darker brown with a roasty, floral/citrus hop dominant aroma. Flavor with a bit of roast and coffee, a tinge of orange sweetness, and a good deal of floral and citrus hops. Really nice Black IPA.
