Wilmington. Golden ale, frothy thin head. Pencil shavings and light American hops in the aroma. Clean, grapefruity, citrus peel flavors. Medium-heavy bittering, summery. Slightly buttery mouthfeel. Generally crisp. Decent brewpub APA.

In short: A tasty IPA trying to pass as a Pale Ale
How: Tat at brewpub, North Wales location
The look: Clear dark golden body topped by a small off-white head
In long: Nose is intensely citrusy. Body is filled with tasty caramel perfectly balanced by a citrusy and resinous hops. Long finish with a bitterness of medium intensity. Lively carbonation. Overall rather crisp. This is a well balanced tasty american hop-fix. I don’t know what the deal is with the Iron Hill locations but I had this one at the North Wales location although it is listed as a Newark beer. Great. Now there’s really no reason whatsoever to go to Delaware.

Draft at Lancaster location. Poured amber in color with a large frothy beige head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus and light piney hops, with a nice caramel malt base. Taste of piney and citrus hops with a nicely balanced caramel malt. Great body, carbonation and mouth feel. Very nice.

Had this at the Harrisburg brewfest. Appearance: huge, off-white head. Aroma: resin, but not much citrus. Bitter taste and dry, short finish.

Sweet hoppy aroma. Oh what a lovely flavor after saMpling so many of their mediocre offerings! Syrupy sweet and bitter grapefruit notes. A quality drink.

On tap at the Wilmington location. Noses in a slightly soapy citrus and malt. Bready and with decent hop character. Pours a clear orange-amber with a fringe in soapy white. Flavor is crisp and hoppy. Good mix of hops and malt. A general caramel base mixes with a grassy, piney, citrus hops, rather generic. Fresh and explosive carbonation. Smacks on a little soap and some weird bitterness on the backend.

This is a truely microbrewed beer. Great color and flavor. It tastes very "different" for a pale ale. Not the normal flavor of your typical PA.
