clear dark copper, fine off white head, drippy lace,
sweet caramel malt aroma with citrus hops,
lots of citrus hop flavor, light bitterness is present from the start through a long bitter finish but complements rather than distracts from the hop flavor, caramel sweetness makes for a three way balance,

Taste is grapefruit with medium-intensity bitterness. Medium body. Not bad, but it's a run-of-the-mill american hop beer, no better than you'd find in some homebrew kits. bu11zeye (5655), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 14, 2008 My Bottom Line:
This solid American Pale Ale’s citrusy and earthy hop ramifications are grounded in a sturdy caramel malt base, leading to a prolonged earthy, resinous hop bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the dark amber.
-This was more drinkable and as flavorful as their Scrooge IPA.
-Most Iron Hill beers are exceptionally well malted, I find.
-Balance is achieved throughout and the proud flavor profile is quite transparent.
On tap at the Wilmington brewpub.
