[At GABF 2004] A clear yellow beer with a fine head. The aroma is very grassy combined with notes of hop oil, and the flavor is very similar. Nice.

clear dark copper, fine off white head, drippy lace, sweet caramel malt aroma with citrus hops, lots of citrus hop flavor, light bitterness is present from the start through a long bitter finish but complements rather than distracts from the hop flavor, caramel sweetness makes for a three way balance,

Clear amber with off-white head. Aroma is grapefruit, some pine. Taste is grapefruit with medium-intensity bitterness. Medium body. Not bad, but it's a run-of-the-mill american hop beer, no better than you'd find in some homebrew kits.

Poured a medium amber in color with a smaller sized, frothy, off white head. Hoppy aroma (floral). Light malty tastes (caramel) with some fruitiness. Has a nice hoppy bitter finish.

Draft... Harrisburg Brewfest 2... Clear, amber ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Malty, floral aroma with notes of caramel and iced tead with lemon. Malty flavor balanced by adequate hops. Toffee and fruit up front, toffee and grapfruit rind on the backside... iced tead throughout. Medium-bodied and watery with soft carbonation. Lengthy, lightly bitter, dry finish.

My Bottom Line:
This solid American Pale Ale’s citrusy and earthy hop ramifications are grounded in a sturdy caramel malt base, leading to a prolonged earthy, resinous hop bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the dark amber.
-This was more drinkable and as flavorful as their Scrooge IPA.
-Most Iron Hill beers are exceptionally well malted, I find.
-Balance is achieved throughout and the proud flavor profile is quite transparent.

On tap at the Wilmington brewpub.
