Bottle 75cl. @ Papsoes blindtasting. [ Bottle #30. ]
Clear medium orange color with virtually none head, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing head. Aroma is barnyard, leather, acetone, lemon, flowers, breet. Flavor is light to moderate sweet, heavy acidic, acetic - vinegar and sour with a long long long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat, finsh feel is light alcoholic or maybe its acetone. But quit nice. [20090501]

No head ot speak of; nearly clear orange-amber beer. Very citrussy, leathergrease, lemon, flowers and obvious Brett. Some acetic even, lots of lactic. Dry taste, bit of liquorice over the mild lactic acid, more lemon touch, and just a touch of caramel. Dry, sharp sourish MF, but no real acidburn. Nice, somewhere between sour ale and gueuze (rather than old lambic). BIg thanks to CK!

Beer number one in a killer July 09 Super Secret Sour State Line Tasting (SSSSLT) featuring (first to last by my counts): Supplication, Consecration, La Folie, Dissident, Cuvee de Castleton, Red Poppy, Lambic de Hill, Festina Lente, Panil. This one poured an amber hay color with a modest head that was decent for the style. Aroma was sweet apple cidery with some tart lemon/citrus notes. Faint hay, not a lot of funk going on here. The flavor was sweet apple cider, some sour funk that was light. Oak present but in need of some more. Sweet white grapes and honey come on with warming temperatures, as does the wood. Cherries and lime before it warmed up to room temperature. A nice brew, more complex as I went back. Mouthfeel was moderately bodied with the same amount of carbonation. Thanks, Gabe, for bringing this one!

750 ml bottle, corked, shared at Statelines super secret sour tasting... First one opened... Muddy orange in color, small head that didnt stick around.. Funky aroma of white grapes, honey and some cider? Taste is tart and sweet....not what I was expecting... Lots of white grapes, and honey. I was actuall impressed by this one. Really easy to drink. Light texture. Overall a very unique beer that I enjoyed drinking.

Pours a cloudy orange copper brown. Huge nail polish remover nose. Same in the flavor, and unfortunately not much else. No hint of wood in the flavor or finish that I could detect. Just nail polish remover.

bottle from bockyhorsey... hazy orange brownish to cloudy amber with a thin white ring for a head. the aroma is not quite as tart as the kreik but it is along the same line... lemon, grassiness, earthy, musty funkiness, lacto and some minerality. the palate is incredibly sour but once again, like the kreik, lacks some depth of character. it is sweeter with flavors mocking the aroma which are joined by a distinct note of sea air-like saltiness. refreshingly tart, sharp and prickly.8/4/8/4/17/4.1

Bottle from Wilmington. No need to give this a long review...horrible. Absolute disgusting vinegarish mess. No pleasant flavors of any kind, completely dead. I kind of want my money back, as 75% of the bottle went down the drain and this ain’t cheap.

Hazy amber with a tiny off white head. Aroma had acetone, sour berries, sour cherries and wood. Flavour had loads of acetone, lacto, sour berries, brett, lacto and extreme sour berries. This one finished extremely sour. I love it.
