rating #1300! handbottle from axilla! many thanks. pours hazy reddish copper with no head. nose is a nice cheesey bretty, fruity, and really oaky. flavor is really dry, cheese, leather, oaky, slight fruitiness from the malts. really dry and oaky finish. really drinkable. wow this poured flat and still scored a 4.3! awesome beer.

In short: Some kind of very complex funky Flemish Sour on steroids. Wicked and totally original
How: Hand-bottle drank with Dickinsonbeer. Paul is my idol
The look: Cloudy redish-brown body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose is funky, woody and tropical fruits. From the nose I was already thrown off, just plain different. Taste is out-there. This one mixes lots of oak, medium sourness, wild bretty funkiness, cherries skin, spicy notes, almonds, refreshing tropical fruits and I could go on and on. Take a La Folie, remove the heavier malt flavours (chocolate and such) and put a whole lot of funk instead and that’s what you get. Drank it and noted a mid-4 rating. Then obsessed about it for a week even after drinking the entire Blind Tiger dry. A unique experience. I’ll remember that beer until the day I die. Or for another 2 years. Whichever comes first. No waging please.

Bottle shared by ogglethorp. Reddish orange pour with no head. Musty malt aroma, some sour elements and light lemon. Light sour notes in the flavor, spices, caramel malt, lemon zest. Medium body, bitter/malty with a tart finish.

Hand-bottled courtesy of axilla. Copper color, absolutely no head or carbonation whatsoever, unusual to me for a beer with Brett. Tastes like a quadrupel with Brett. Amazing combination. Very malty, bit of a spicy finish. Lingered for awhile on the tongue, quite a balanced flavor. I really enjoyed this. It’s a great experiment of combining the sour aspects of Brett with a Quadrupel beer. I hope to see more of the same!

Hand bottled and tasted on 22 mar 08. Deep copper color. Sour aroma, hints of anise seed. Flavor is very bready, wood, vanilla. Some sourness, but lots of dough. Dry, medium body.

12 oz. handbottle - thanks andrew!! pours clear copper wit orange glow around the edges; as expected, very low carbonation; aromas are fruity with obvious sourness; texture is very thin and the brett is a little in your face; flavors are sour lemon, dates; would love to compare something to IH quad, but it seems the quad characteristics are changed quite a bit by the brett addition; interesting and tasty though
