| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 23, 2009 Updated: Mar 25, 2009750ml bottle. Pours a cloudy deep orange amber. Malty and fruity aroma. Really wonderful flavor profile: not overbearingly dark malt, but with a beautifully balanced, sweet, elegant, citrusy affect. Love it. This has a fruitcake-like quality to it, and a definite caramel-cherry presence. Bubblegum. The Iron Hill bottles are so freakin’ good. The balance and sweet nuance of this is just awesome. michael-pollack (2719), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Big thanks to GMCC2181 for sending this one my way. Had this the same night as a bunch of rare beers, and this stood up to the big boys. Nice and subtle, but complex. Aroma is malt and yeast, with maybe even notes of nuts. Flavor is malt and hops; not too big, but full of character. Not too hot, not too watery. A fantastic session barleywine, and a nice representation of the style. Thanks again Gabe!
