Taster on tap at brewpub. Dark brown almost black color. Found this to be very smooth and drinkable...but unimpressive. Don’t get much more than a slight, slight roasted malt taste. I like a porter to have more complexity...this is an easy drinking, straight-forward beer.

Best Porter I’ve had. On tap in Newark. Coffee beans and chocolate, enjoyable bitterness. [3.5]

Re-rate, 650+ beers later: Draught in Newark. Dark pour with ruby edges. Lacing with a light brown head. Smells of chocolate, roast malt, coffee. Tastes the same. Light-bodied, slightly watery. [3.3]

On tap the Media location. Pours a dark brown with some reddish amber coming through when held up to the light. Great lacing tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Flavor of milk chocolate, sweet roasted malts with a slight hop bitterness to help balance.

Muted roastiness. Deep black with a decent head. Roasted coffee beans, toasted and burnt bread and some mild chocolate notes. Great classic porter.

Very dark brown almost black with an ok deep beige head. Aroma is mostly chocolate malt, backed by a bit of roast, some toasted malts, and some nuts. Flavor is a traditional porter with that porter-like tang to it. Lots of smooth chocolate, a bit fruity, and even a hint of anise in there as well. Finish is pretty smooth.

North Wales location. Muddy brown color body with a light tan head. Aroma and flavor are chocolatey with medium roasted coffee, a note of cinnamon, some dark fruitiness, and licorice. Medium sweet with low bitterness. A good porter.
