About the right amount of bitterness. Dark in colour, but much too thin, almost watery. There was not enough roast--overall there wasn’t enough flavour. Porters are supposed to be rich and filling; this one is far from it. However, I might add this is still a pleasant beer. When I had this beer on nitrogen, I thought it was quite awful. An unpleasant aroma emerged that made the beer barely drinkable. This contributed to me knocking the overall rating down by 2 points. I also want to add that I am appalled that this beer is rated in the 87th percentile. Do people who use this site have awful taste or what? It’s getting to where I can barely trust any of the ratings at all. PWalk (337), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

A little lighter in body than I normally find but nonetheless very drinkable. The finish is finely bitter with some toffee in there as well. Ungstrup (15430), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 9, 2005 Draught sample from Iron Hill, West Chester. Tangy acidic bitter smoky nose, some coffee and chocolate. Bit too pungent in nose and takes away from the sweet subtle malts that are underneath. Light medium brown hazy with foamy light tan lacing head. Medium amber body with medium carbonation. Chocolate coffee and roasted grains. Mild milky acidic quality. Burnt malt. Nice carbonic acidity and toffee notes. Finish is bitter and dry roasted grains. Light dry tangy after. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
