Bottle courtesy of beerlando. Pours medium brown with tan head. Dark friut aroma with some alcohol. Sweet flavor of brown sugar, dark fruits, raisins, figs and licorice. Alcohol comes through a bit. Medium body with low carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. A decent quad.

Pours a clear chestnut brown color with a small, cream colored head. Wet, soapy lacing mostly rejoins the body. The aroma is heavy on candied brown sugar, with caramel, raisons, and alcohol steeped figs lending fumy, sweet and fruity notes. Flavors are massively sweet, the aforementioned elements combining into a dark, sugary, fruity puree of sorts. The fig and the raison are just huge here, with huge candied sugar being the only counter to what would otherwise be a big alcohol burn. Earthy hops lend more in terms of spice than balancing bitterness. The palate is thick and sugary sweet. I tend to shy away from all but the best Quads, but this one is pretty solid.

Courtesy Beerlando. Pours a dark maroon brown, with a tiny off white head. Smells of monster dark fruits and candy sugar, caramel malt, and pretty strong alcohol. The flavor was again very much on the fruity side. Pretty sweet, the candy sugar mixed with the dark fruits and alcohol perfectly characterized this beer. It finishes pretty smooth however, coating the palate with its sweet complexities. Pretty nice I thought.

bottle shared by beerlando: pours dark caramel brown with a thisn tan line for a head. aroma seems a little lite with a full amount of dark fruits, good malt profile that is sweet and caramel, very nice. flavour has a sweet dark malt and candi sugar syrup flavour, slight spicey yeast with some good dark fruits mingiling in.

Draft @ BCTC. Pours a ruby-orange color; light tan head with patchy lacing; gorgeous color. Lots of tea, red fruits, and toasty caramel in the aroma; touch of warming alcohol poking through. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy tea-like malts, caramel, and dried fruits; sweet, lightly astringent, and generally one-dimensional quad. Disappointing. Lengthy finish: dried fruits, tea, and some basic caramel; singular expression.

tasted with phoenix crew. provided by sparky27... pours hazy brown with a fuzzy off white ring for a head. the aroma is really fruity (apples and raisins) with a bunch of graininess, brown sugar and minerals... smells like a grainy sweet tart candy. painfully sweet on the palate given it’s lack of anything resembling complexity... malty grain, a little spice, some sour fruit and a lot of booze. it finishes dry, hot and a bit astringent. medium body.

Sampled @ Bocky Bash on 7-5-08. Aroma of sweet malts and smoky presence on the nose.. Hazy brown body with minimal head. Sweet caramel flavor that lingered on the palate. Sweet Quad if that is what you like.
